Town of Smithville - Chenango County, NY

    Please take notice that the Town Board of the Town of Smithville, Chenango County, New York (the "Town"), at a meeting held on August 10, 2021 adopted a Resolution, which is subject to a permissive referendum, to opt out of hosting retail cannabis dispensaries and/or on-site cannabis consumption establishments within the Town of Smithville boundaries. This notice and a copy of the proposed Local Law # 4 (2021) "Cannabis Law~131 OPT-OUT" will be posted on the Town website, at the entrance to the Town Clerk's office at 5285 State Hwy 41, and may be viewed at the Town Clerk's Office during regularly scheduled hours Monday-Friday 9am-Noon until September 20, 2021.
    A Public Hearing will also be held on Monday Sept. 20, 2021 at 6:35 pm at the Smithville Community Center 5285 State Hwy 41. If no petitions for a referendum have been received by that time, the Town Board of the Town of Smithville will consider this Resolution, Local Law # 4 as approved and binding.
